Abstract:

Literature citations confirm that the connection between agriculture, hospitality and tourism is in the research focus. This is confirmed by the published scientific papers in international journals that are closely related to the research topic. Papers related to the research topic are carried out within each research sector or on the tourist-farmer relation. Farmers involved in tourism do not point out that they place their products in a hospitality facility, sell them to tourists in transit, distribute them in souvenir shops or present them at events. The relations between the two subjects are based on the active participation of tourists in the daily life of the host, their acquaintance with the local culture, experiences in local food preparation, motives and pleasure. The relation between tourists and caterers is identified based on their interaction. Visitors point out that they experience gastronomy on family farms better than in hospitality facilities. Thus, the perception of local food is more positively experienced on the agricultural farms. This contributes to less popularization of the research between tourists and caterers. Studies between farmers and caterers cite restrictions in regards to product placement and the identification of what is necessary to establish that connection. The overall situation leads to the assumption that the notion of authenticity in hospitality facilities is questioned, because the placement of local products takes place primarily during farm visits. The doctoral dissertation defines the research tasks that are closely related to the topic of the paper. These are as follows: Examine the synergy factors and farmer’s, caterer’s and tourist’s stances, which are relevant for its realization. Explore the difference in the perception of farmers, caterers and tourists towards synergy factors. Examine the relation between synergy scales and the stances of respondents relevant to achieving synergy. Create income indicators for caterers and farmers and examine their connection with the identified factors which are relevant for achieving synergy. Create indicators for the measure of tourists’ money spent and examine their impact on the attitudes of respondents, which are relevant for achieving synergy. Determine the influence of socio-demographic characteristics on the stances of respondents relevant for achieving synergy. The survey was conducted in Vojvodina (South Bačka District). 580 respondents took part in it. There were 188 farmers, 201 caterers and 201 tourists. The number of collected surveys was dictated by the analyses applied in the preparation of the paper, namely: desk research, surveys, statistical analyses (descriptive statistics, factor analysis, correlations). The software program SPSS (24.0 for Windows) was used in data processing. By applying the UHT model, it was found that farmers, caterers and tourists strive to achieve synergies between agriculture, hospitality and tourism and that their views are heterogeneous. Analyzing their individual stances, it is concluded that the situation is worse than their common stances.
