This study is a qualitative analysis of the circular economyin the building industry. The study addresses the followingproblem statement: How can the circular economy rise andmaintain throughout the traditional building industry, andimprove the market position with legitimate principles?The methodological approach is a qualitative case studybased on a total of 5 informants, two from the traditionalfield, and three from the circular field. The foundation ofthe case is based upon VCØB and how they interact withother field actors.The analytical approach of the study is based upon New InstitutionalTheory including institutional logics, institutionalcomplexity, field, subfields and infrastructures. Initially theconstruction industry is being characterized through its developmentwithin the circular economy.The study´s key findings are how the circular economy canbe adapted within an existing field, where new understandingof the human behavior plays a crucial part to create andwithhold the circular principles. Furthermore, this studysuggest that the circular economy can only improve with thecommitment from all field’s actors.
