Abstract:
This thesis examines household beliefs and decisions in relation to housing. It is motivated by the significance of housing in the household decision-making process. It contains four studies that focus on different aspects of household beliefs and decisions, including expectations, stigmas, portfolio choices, and intergenerational effects. The findings provide a new understanding of the role that housing plays in household decision-making process and highlight policy implications from a housing market perspective.
