This dissertation discusses the various major surgeries developed for patients with pleural mesothelioma (asbestos cancer) and the evolution of understanding regarding the long-term outcomes of these procedures. It also addresses aspects such as patient hope, the changing incidence and the recent introduction of immunotherapy in this disease.’
