Abstract:
An innovative method for risk assessment of Contact Thermal Burn (CTB) caused by hot metal surfaces of machines and products aims to quantify the risk of CTB by determinating the severity of CTB depending on the degree of CTB and the size of the hot metal surface. By using the infrared (IR) camera it is possible to measure the temperature on the entire hot metal surface and show CTB risk zones, with their exact location and size, which has its practical importance in the design of machines and products as well as workplaces where there are hot metal surfaces.
